Wheaton is the DuPage County seat and had 54,011 residents in 2020. The streets close to downtown and the train line were built up long before the expressway era, and many of those houses still have plaster walls, deep window and door casings and porches that need careful prep before paint.

Farther from the center, the subdivisions built from the 1960s through the 1990s make up most of the city, and the calls there are the familiar ones: builder paint that has scuffed through, oak trim and cabinets that owners want lighter, and exteriors that need their trim re-caulked before winter.
